The Honda Odyssey Touring we have been driving for the past 4 years only seats 7 people. That's plenty of room for a family of 4. But, we were about to be a family of 8. That may be an announcement to some of you. We are in the process of adopting 4 kids. I thought we could just buy a seat for the second row in place of the console there.
Well, apparently, there are some safety issues about having a seat with no seatbelt attached. Go figure, I made it through childhood without one. I believe I never even rode in a car seat, right Mom? (She loves me, though, I promise.) Apparently, adding a seatbelt to a Honda Odyssey is against galactic regulations. Aliens are all about rules, right Mr. Bubbles?
Naturally, I discovered this the week after I bought my precious. A no-car-payment household with 2 kids has just become a two-car-payment household with 6 kids.
It's not that I can't use a lesson in self-control, or selflessness, or humility for that matter. I just don't like the fact that I brought it on myself. It seems like it's easier to accept when you had no control over the trouble you are in. Just ask a liberal. (That was totally uncalled for. I apologize. Sort of. I guess not enough to delete it from my blog.)
